Simulation and Performance Analysis of A 5 Ghz Microstrip Patch Antenna
The design and performance analysis of microstrip patch antennas (MPAs) operating at 5 GHz is investigated in this research. MPAs are widely used in modern wireless communication systems due to their compact size, ease of fabrication, and capability to support high-frequency applications. In this study, a Co-axial Feed Square Patch Antenna structure is designed and evaluated. This design is analyzed to determine their suitability for 5 GHz applications by assessing key performance parameters such as radiation pattern, gain, bandwidth, and return loss. To ensure accurate modeling and performance evaluation, the 3D electromagnetic simulation software CST is used. The antenna is designed using millimeterscale dimensions to achieve optimal resonance at the desired frequency. The Co-axial Feed Square Patch Antenna is assessed for its ease of integration and impedance matching characteristics. Antenna is studied for its efficiency in providing a stable impedance match and broad bandwidth performance. The Co-axial Feed Square Patch Antenna demonstrates good impedance matching but exhibits relatively lower bandwidth. It offers a balanced trade-off between bandwidth and gain, making it an effective choice for general 5 GHz communication applications.
