In the process of studying the linguistic foundations of document studies, pedagogical strategies play a crucial role in the formation of this competence, ensuring the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The article explores pedagogical strategies for developing linguistic competence among students majoring in Library, Information, and Archival Studies in the context of studying linguistic foundations of documentation science. It highlights linguistic competence as a core component of professional training, given the linguistic nature of documents and the necessity to understand their structure, terminology, and style. Effective strategies are defined: a text-centered approach involving analysis of authentic document texts; interactive methods such as case studies and simulations that allow modeling professional scenarios; and project-based learning, aimed at creating information products using domain-specific terminology. The integration of digital tools (e.g., DSpace, Koha) into the educational process is substantiated as a means to develop skills in metadata creation and structured information management. The article emphasizes the importance of an interdisciplinary approach that combines linguistics, IT, and legal knowledge. Special attention is paid to the development of soft skills such as critical thinking, communication, and lifelong learning. It concludes that comprehensive pedagogical strategies are essential for developing linguistic competence necessary for successful professional performance in a digital information environment.
