RESEARCH ACTIVITY AS A FACTOR IN SHAPING ACADEMIC INTEGRITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS
The article highlights the experience of organizing educational and research activities of undergraduate students majoring in A3 “Primary Education” within the framework of professional training aimed at fostering academic integrity. Modern approaches to the integration of academic quality policy into the institutional environment of higher education institutions are summarized. This process involves the purposeful development of an academic culture, the familiarization of all participants in the educational process with the classification of integrity violations and regulatory measures of academic responsibility, as well as the need for legal regulation regarding the use of artificial intelligence in research. Particular attention is paid to the development of academic integrity among future primary school teachers through their involvement in various forms of research activities (project-based work, course papers, qualification theses, publications), considered through the prism of compulsory educational research and voluntary scientific activities. Using the educational components “Fundamentals of Natural Science” and “Methods of Teaching Civic and Historical Educational Fields” as examples, the article reveals the specific features of organizing students’ educational and research activities. Emphasis is placed on the effectiveness of paired and group project work, as well as on course research projects that integrate educational and scientific components of professional development, ensuring close alignment with the requirements of modern primary school education. The importance of students’ research activities is underlined in terms of supporting their individual educational trajectories beyond the framework of the educational and professional program. The article describes the specifics of organizing the work of a scientific problem group, as well as the role of the supervisor in creating a research environment, encouraging creativity, and fostering students’ responsibility for their research outcomes.
