THE ROLE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORTS AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

The article substantiates the pivotal role of scientific research in advancing modern physical culture and sports, highlighting its importance for improving physical education methodologies, sports training, national health preservation, and implementing innovative technologies in practice. It emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary research, which integrates pedagogical, biomedical, psychological, and information-technological aspects, fostering the renewal of approaches to training and educational processes. Significant attention is devoted to the role of research activities in the professional development of higher education students. Such activities cultivate critical thinking, innovative consciousness, and the ability to analyze and synthesize scientific data, ensuring the competitiveness of future physical culture and sports professionals in the labor market. The study analyzes current research directions, including the theory and methodology of physical education, psychological-pedagogical aspects of athlete training, biomechanics of motor activity, sports medicine, inclusive physical culture, and digitalization of the training process. Particular focus is placed on methodological approaches: competence-based (emphasizing the formation of key competencies in physical culture), systemic (viewing physical culture as an integrated system interacting with education and healthcare), synergetic (focusing on self-organization, non-linearity, and system openness), cultural (considering physical culture as part of societal culture, reflecting values and traditions), and personality-oriented (centering on the individual characteristics of participants in educational or sports processes). It is concluded that scientific research forms the foundation for modernizing physical culture and sports systems, promoting innovative methodologies, enhancing public health, and improving professional performance. Further development requires integration into the global scientific community, strengthening interdisciplinary research, and actively engaging higher education students in scientific endeavors.
