Picowatt Sensitivity for Multi-Mode Interference Waveguide-Based Spectrometer
We present a new generation of multi-mode interference waveguides designed for low-light spectrometry, employing machine-learning to reconstruct the input spectrum. Optimized etching of the waveguide surface increases sensitivity by 22.9 dB to -75 dBm (31.6 pW).
