Microresonator fingerprinting using spontaneous symmetry breaking of counter-propagating light fields

We analyze the spatial distribution of scatterers in a microresonator by exploiting spontaneous symmetry breaking of counter-propagating light waves. Our results can be used for rapid characterization of integrated photonic ring resonators.
