Strong and Ultranarrow-Linewidth Brillouin on Chip through Forward Intermodal Interactions with the Fundamental Acoustic Waves

Suspended triple-core waveguides enable strong forward inter-modal interactions with the fundamental acoustic waves on chip. By optimizing the acousto-optic interaction, >1000 W -1 m -1 gain and <100 kHz linewidths are observed in suspended silicon nitride.

Abstract

Suspended triple-core waveguides enable strong forward inter-modal interactions with the fundamental acoustic waves on chip. By optimizing the acousto-optic interaction, >1000 W -1 m -1 gain and <100 kHz linewidths are observed in suspended silicon nitride.
