MPC Based Grid-Connected Three-Phase Switched-Capacitor Nine-Level Inverter
A new Switched Capacitor (SC), 3-Φ unique-source nine-level inverter (9LI) is designed to provide nine levels in line voltage. The inverter is appropriate for low-voltage grid-connected solar systems. Due to the switching pattern, the primary dc source is isolated and the SC units supply voltage during voltage generation. This design automatically balances SC units' voltage and boosts output voltage to four times the single dc source. The suggested system requires less control complexity than traditional inverters. The modular design boosts voltage levels in output. The recommended inverter configuration works effectively under various 1-Φ and 3-Φ working circumstances. The Model Predictive Control (MPC) is a powerful control approach in power electronics that predicts future behavior and picks the appropriate action. Inverters, rectifiers, motor drives, and grid-connected converters use it extensively. In this work, a Direct Model Predictive Current Control (DM-PCC) was employed for the grid tied/connected 3-Phase 9LI (GC3P9LI) for the control of grid current. The proposed system was implemented in Simulink platform of the MATLAB. The simulation outcomes validated the performance of suggested topology.
