Comparative analysis of harmonic analysis for the improvement of PQ using DVR, D-STATCOM and UPQC
The idea behind custom power is to use cutting-edge power electronics-based devices that can be linked to the disruptive load in series or parallel to compensate for various Power Quality (PQ) difficulties. The goal of this research project is to use various specialized power devices to reduce harmonics in induction type furnace. The effectivity of each device in reducing voltage and current harmonics in non- sinusoidal conditions is evaluated. The PQ analyzer is used to record the experimental readings. The simulink model of an induction type furnace has been created, and its performance has been compared to real-time data collected from active induction furnaces at several steel plants. Finally, the results obtained demonstrate that Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of an induction boiler can be significantly reduced by using these devices. The developed model's performance is consistent with the operational features of the industrial induction furnance.
