Touchless Human-Computer Interaction: An AI-Driven Gesture and Voice Control System

Direct physical contact with the devices to vary volume or light can be impractical, unsanitary, and inaccessible under some circumstances. This project comes up with a Hybrid model of gesture-based volume and brightness controller for digital devices, taking advantage of the potential of OpenCV and MediaPipe for real-time hand gesture recognition. The system uses a common webcam to record video, with background subtraction methods used to separate the hand area from the rest of the image. Left-hand gestures are used to control volume, and right-hand gestures are used to control brightness. The integration of voice commands as an additional controlling interface enables adjustment of settings without actual physical gesture requirements. It results in an all-encompassing and resilient model of interaction, especially helping individuals with bodily handicaps. The hybrid input adds a new dimension to interacting with the computer system, both promoting accessibility as well as easy handling. By merging gesture and voice controls, the system provides a fluid, precise, and intuitive way to control volume and brightness, enhancing overall user experience and comfort. This technology closes the gap between human intent and digital responsiveness, opening doors to more intelligent and accessible human-computer interaction.
