CM/VM 3rd Order Quadrature Sinusoidal Oscillator Employing VDCC For Bio-medical Signal Processing

In this research communication, 3rd order sinusoidal oscillator for biomedical applications has been presented. The proposed circuit employs the two blocks of active device VDCC and grounded passive components. This circuit enjoys independent adjustment between oscillation condition and oscillating frequency. Grounded nature of passive components helps in integrated circuits (ICs) fabrication. The routine mathematical process provides the non-ideal, parasitic, and sensitivity analyses. CMOS simulation of the oscillator provides an oscillating frequency of 450 Hz, which is applicable in various biomedical applications. The power consumption is observed at this frequency as 2.62 mW, and 1.48% harmonic distortion is encountered. The CMOS simulations with 0.18μm TSMC and macro model simulation confirm the hardware implementation of the proposed oscillator.
