Blockchain Trust and Risk Perception Influencing Millennial Cryptocurrency Investment Decisions

The proliferation of Blockchain technology has reshaped modern financial system architectures by offering enhanced transparency, security, and efficiency. This study proposes a hybrid analytical framework combining behavioral modeling with technological evaluation to examine the determinants of cryptocurrency investment behavior among Indonesian millennials. By integrating Blockchain affinity metrics with structured risk perception modeling, the research explores how individual trust in distributed ledger technologies, system reliability, and digital literacy influence investment intent. A quantitative method was applied using data from 482 respondents, followed by statistical analysis and system simulation in MATLAB to validate the interaction effects between trust factors and risk sensitivity. The findings reveal that Blockchain’s operational features specifically data immutability, smart contract automation, and real-time auditability significantly enhance investment willingness among digital-native users. Additionally, a predictive model was constructed to estimate investment likelihood based on Blockchain affinity and individual risk coefficients, achieving 87.3% accuracy. The results emphasize the importance of technological assurance mechanisms in reducing perceived risks and increasing adoption of decentralized financial assets. This study provides valuable insights for designing Blockchain-based investment platforms through adaptive trust frameworks, user-friendly interfaces, and real-time risk analytics.
