A Generic FSC Wind Park EMT Model with IEEE Std 2800-Compliant Fault Ride-Through Capability
The increasing integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs), such as wind power plants, necessitates robust control strategies to ensure grid stability and compliance with IEEE Std 2800. This paper presents a generic full-scale converter (FSC) wind park electromagnetic transient (EMT) model incorporating fault ride-through (FRT) capability, reactive power control, and park-level voltage regulation at the Point of Interconnection (POI). The proposed control architecture includes an FRT logic that enables positive- and negative-sequence current injection and DC-link protection during disturbances, while post-fault restoration mechanisms ensure smooth power recovery. Simulation results confirm the model's compliance with IEEE Std 2800.
