ESPORTE COMO FERRAMENTA DE TRANSFORMAÇÃO SOCIAL
This article analyzes sport as a tool for social transformation, highlighting its potential to promote inclusion, develop socio-emotional skills, and reduce vulnerabilities in different community contexts. The study adopts a qualitative approach based on a literature review of recent research investigating sports programs aimed at children, adolescents, and young people at social risk, considering pedagogical, psychological, and cultural aspects. The results show that structured sports practice contributes to the development of values such as discipline, teamwork, and respect for rules, while strengthening community bonds and expanding educational and social opportunities. The analysis indicates that well-structured sports projects can reduce violence rates, improve participants’ physical and mental health, and foster social inclusion of marginalized groups. It is concluded that sport plays a transformative role when integrated into public policies and community actions that value active participation and holistic development of individuals, proving to be an effective tool for promoting equity and citizenship.
