Computational modeling of deformation curves and contact interaction in two-roll modules for industrial applications

The paper explores how deformation curves of contacting bodies can be described using an empirical power-law dependence and the Kelvin-Voigt rheological model. It was determined that empirical power-law models are effective for characterizing the deformation curves of processed materials and roll coating in the context of contact interaction. Mathematical equations of the line along which deformation occurs and an engineering model for calculating the thickness of the material are determined. The shape of the line along which the deformation of the material occurs depends on the deformation rates, which are primarily functions of the nature of the deformation of the contact area.

Abstract

The paper explores how deformation curves of contacting bodies can be described using an empirical power-law dependence and the Kelvin-Voigt rheological model. It was determined that empirical power-law models are effective for characterizing the deformation curves of processed materials and roll coating in the context of contact interaction. Mathematical equations of the line along which deformation occurs and an engineering model for calculating the thickness of the material are determined. The shape of the line along which the deformation of the material occurs depends on the deformation rates, which are primarily functions of the nature of the deformation of the contact area.
