El papel de la tecnología en la implementación de metodologías activas en el siglo XXI

This article examines the role of technology in the implementation of active learning methodologies in 21st-century education. Through a documentary research approach, recent academic sources were reviewed addressing the interaction between digital tools and student-centered pedagogical strategies, such as problem-based learning, collaborative learning, gamification, and the flipped classroom. The results indicate that technology enhances student engagement, motivation, and autonomy, facilitating more flexible and collaborative learning environments. It also enables the diversification of teaching strategies and the adaptation of educational processes to different learning styles and paces. However, significant challenges were identified, including the digital divide, the need for teacher training in technological and pedagogical competencies, and the risk of using digital tools merely instrumentally. The discussion emphasizes that technology should be understood as a means to promote critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful knowledge construction, rather than as an end in itself. In conclusion, the effective integration of active methodologies and technology requires a comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable pedagogical approach that prepares students to face the challenges of contemporary society.
