Research on the Enhancement of Employees’ Self-efficacy Based on Capability Development in the Context of Human-machine Collaboration

Against the backdrop of the Fourth Industrial Revolution promoting human-machine collaboration as the new normal of organizational operation, employees are confronted with challenges such as technological anxiety and role ambiguity, which significantly impact their sense of efficacy. This study focuses on capability development and explores its role in enhancing employees' sense of efficacy and work enthusiasm. The research decomposes capability development into three dimensions: technical operation, human-machine collaboration, and dynamic learning ability. It is found that capability development influences the sense of efficacy by directly strengthening specific efficacy beliefs and indirectly buffering the fluctuations in efficacy perception. Moreover, this influence is moderated by technological characteristics and organizational environment.Based on these findings, the study proposes strategies such as building a scenario-based capability development system and optimizing the division of responsibilities to empower employees in human-machine collaboration, providing theoretical and practical guidance for enterprises.
