Plastic degradation by the biodegradation method using biodegradation bacteria

A synthetic polymer, plastic finds extensive application in nearly every aspect of life. The extensive use of this synthetic polymer has caused it to accumulate in the environment, causing pollution. The conventional methods of reducing plastic waste-landfill, incineration, and recycling-are thought to be less successful since they discharge some dangerous substances into the environment. Therefore, to solve this issue, the right method is required.Enzymatic degradation involving some microorganisms, such as bacteria, is known as biodegradation. This method can help stop the problem of plastic waste.Biodeterioration, depolymerization, and absorption were the processes that led to the biodegradation of plastic waste.Plastic polymers will be broken down and transformed into microbial biomass and gasses by the numerous enzymes that bacteria release throughout this process. Therefore, as a result, this procedure has few, if any, adverse effects.
