Forming an empathic educational environment in an educational institution: interpersonal communication and audience management skills
The author of the article analyzes the need to create an empathetic educational environment in educational institutions. Blue-collar professions form the basis of the Ukrainian economy, which is especially relevant during the country's post-war recovery. Therefore, empathy is an important professional quality. The ability to use interpersonal communication skills and audience management is becoming a priority, as the teacher's role is to manage an educational environment that allows everyone to succeed. To succeed in this work, it is necessary to create an empathetic educational environment that supports both teachers and students, as it helps create all the opportunities for using the resources (spatial, methodological, material, informational) of the educational institution. The emphasis is on the importance of considering citizen science, which is an important tool for community recovery and the formation of new formats of cooperation between the academic community, public organizations, authorities, and citizens, as well as the importance of innovative, complex, and systemic recovery solutions that must be based on data and public participation. The results of the survey «Substantiation of the model of an empathetic «green» educational environment of an educational institution» conducted in April-May 2025 were analyzed. The survey involved 1003 administrative and teaching staff from vocational and pre-higher education institutions, including directors, deputy directors, methodologists, teachers, and practical training instructors (515 people in the experimental group (EG) and 488 in the control group (CG)). The results of the study indicate that teaching staff are aware of the importance of developing green skills in young people. They also recognize the rapid unfolding of digitalization and platformization processes, which necessitates developing a new quality of a healthy lifestyle, competitive work, creative leisure, and a caring attitude towards people and wildlife. The goal is to prepare young people for smart consumption, eco-innovations, creative industries, and circular production.
