A pessoa e o exercício da cidadania plena: narrativas jornalísticas e a representação da deficiência na Folha de São Paulo

This paper is the result of an analysis of narrative constructions about disability, present in the Folha de São Paulo newspaper, in its digital version, specifically within the sections Science, Market and Health, taking 2021 and 2023 as basis, from synchronic and diachronic perspectives. Based on theoretical-methodological framework anchored in Narratology, The Social Model of Disability and Biopsychosocial Assessment, we emphasize that it is through what seeks to highlight, such as the notion of disability linked to social assistance work, that the newspaper promotes an update historical of the neoliberal model, marginalizing social groups. Finally, it is highlighted how narratives produced by mass media seek to produce consensus that impacts social inclusion and the guarantee of the exercise of full citizenship.
