Assessment of Change in the Productivity of a Rotary Calciner

With a constant thermal regime of a rotary calciner for calcining limestone, its limiting operating conditions are limited by a decrease in the degree of calcination of limestone with an increase in the intensity of unloading of the calcined material. Long-term industrial tests have shown that an increase in the productivity of a calciner by limestone by 10% is accompanied by an increase in the secondary air blast heating temperature by 5.19% with an increase in the heat input to the calciner by 11.25%, an increase in the temperature of the exhaust gases from the calciner and the heating of the limestone in a separate shaft-type heater, a decrease in the degree of its preliminary decomposition from 18.31 to 15.51%, a reduction in the length of the torch from 50 to 38 m or by 1.32 times, a reduction in the final degree of limestone burning with a decrease in the proportion of its decomposition heat by 4.4%, a decrease in the specific fuel consumption and an increase in the specific heat consumption from 1446 to 1568 kW/t of lime.
