Importancia del liderazgo de enfermería en la atención primaria

Nursing leadership in primary care is fundamental to ensuring quality care and the overall effectiveness of the health system, as leaders play a crucial role in sustaining teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment, providing patient-centred care, and empowering staff. They also facilitate change management and implement evidence-based practices that adapt to community needs, while assuming direct responsibility for the continuous training of healthcare professionals so that nurses remain up to date with current practices. This review considered descriptive and retrospective research with both qualitative and quantitative approaches, drawing on databases such as Google Scholar, Scielo, Sibiup, and MEDLINE, and reviewing 25 international articles published over the last eight years (2017–2024). The findings emphasise that effective leadership promotes teamwork and strengthens communication within healthcare teams, thereby contributing to a culture of safety and learning that is essential for achieving high-quality care.
