Design and Performance Analysis of Single Polarized Dipole Antenna for Base Station Application

This paper proposes single polarized dipole antenna for base station application. Two vertical parasitic elements are placed in between single-polarized radiator and ground, the use of parasitic elements helps in achieving a wider beamwidth. The antenna is created using the custom 3D shapes available in the Antenna Toolbox from MATLAB. The antenna is operating in the frequency range 1.5-2.2 GHz with VSWR<2. The gain of the antenna is 7 dB over the band and the HPBW is 75°.
