Circularly Polarized Microstrip Patch Antenna for Dual Band Wireless Applications

Circularly polarized microstrip patch antennas are play an essential role in contemporary dual frequency wireless communication setups because they enhance signal robustness and polarization characteristics. This study introduces a compact, dual-band circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna engineered for efficient operation at 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz within ISM frequency range. The antenna attains a maximum gain of 6.2 dB, axial ratio below 3 dB across both frequency bands, and a return loss exceeding −20 dB. The design features a space efficient form factor measuring <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$40 \text{mm} \times 40 \text{mm} \times 1.6 \text{mm}$</tex>, making it appropriate for integration into wearable e wireless applications. Simulations and measurements validate the antenna's performance, showing consistent radiation patterns, high efficiency, and stable impedance matching. The findings demonstrate the antenna's effectiveness in dual-band wireless scenarios, providing an optimal combination of performance and practical deployment.

Abstract

Circularly polarized microstrip patch antennas are play an essential role in contemporary dual frequency wireless communication setups because they enhance signal robustness and polarization characteristics. This study introduces a compact, dual-band circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna engineered for efficient operation at 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz within ISM frequency range. The antenna attains a maximum gain of 6.2 dB, axial ratio below 3 dB across both frequency bands, and a return loss exceeding −20 dB. The design features a space efficient form factor measuring <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$40 \text{mm} \times 40 \text{mm} \times 1.6 \text{mm}$</tex>, making it appropriate for integration into wearable e wireless applications. Simulations and measurements validate the antenna's performance, showing consistent radiation patterns, high efficiency, and stable impedance matching. The findings demonstrate the antenna's effectiveness in dual-band wireless scenarios, providing an optimal combination of performance and practical deployment.
