Wearable E-Shaped Antenna for Medical Applications

This paper presents the design and analysis of a wearable E-shaped antenna tailored for medical applications. Constructed from flat and durable materials such as RT Duriod 5880, the proposed antenna ensures adaptability to wearable scenarios without compromising performance. Operating within the 2.30-2.60 GHz frequency range, it effectively covers the 2.45 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band, a crucial spectrum for medical communications. The antenna achieves high efficiency exceeding 70 %, along with substantial gain, under various testing conditions, including flat, and close-to-body scenarios. These characteristics ensure reliable signal transmission and reception even in dynamic wearable environments. The lightweight, compact design and robust performance make this antenna ideal for integrating into health monitoring devices, wireless medical telemetry systems, and other wearable medical technologies, contributing to advancements in remote healthcare and patient monitoring solutions.
