A Novel Polarization Transforming Metasurface
This paper presents a broadband metasurface with cross-polarization conversion (CPC) capabilities, designed and simulated to operate efficiently between 5 and 10 GHz. The structure integrates square and circular loop elements with corridors, supported by a 2.4 mm thick FR4 substrate and a metallic ground plane. Its wideband polarization conversion is driven by plasmonic resonances occurring at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$5 \text{GHz}, 8.6 \text{GHz}$</tex>, and 10 GHz. Additionally, the metasurface's symmetrical design and sub-wavelength unit cell enable consistent performance regardless of the wave's polarization or incidence angle, making it well-suited for various practical applications.
