Design and Analysis of Compact Circular Patch Reconfiguarble Antenna for Wide Band Applications

In this work a novel wide band antenna with fractal design has been proposed with reconfigurable nature. The proposed antenna is designed and analyzed using Ansys HFSS software keeping FR4 as the substrate material. The antenna offers comprehensive reconfigurability in mentioned cases. Two BAR-64 diodes are placed in between ground and radiating stub. The two diodes offer a fine tuning between the cases especially in the region UWB (<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3.1-10.6 \text{GHz}$</tex>). The antenna parameters gain (vs) frequency, radiation pattern and efficiency are observed stable reconfigurable properties. Circular polarization at frequencies <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2.9 \text{GHz}, 5.1 \text{Ghz}, 6.6 \text{GHz}$</tex> and 9.7 GHz is the added advantage to the proposed work. The simulated parameters make good argument of the proposed model to work at targeted frequencies.
