The Optimization Method of Digital Twin Interface Based on Kano Model and House of Quality
This study presents a structured approach to optimize the digital twin interface of slender industrial inspection robots used in confined environments. To identify key user needs, semi-structured interviews and a Likert-scale questionnaire were conducted. Using the Kano model, ten core functional requirements were categorized by their impact on user satisfaction. These were then translated into specific interface design elements—such as color, typography, graphics, and layout—through the House of Quality method. Expert evaluations quantified the correlations between needs and design elements, and the DEMATEL method was applied to adjust for interdependencies. Based on these results, interface optimization focused on high-priority elements like layout clarity and visual contrast. Four redesigned interface prototypes were tested, and user feedback confirmed improvements in usability and operational efficiency. This method offers practical guidance for user-centered interface design in digital twin systems supporting industrial robotics.
