Innovations and Transformations in English Translation and Interpreting Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into English translation and interpreting education, highlighting its significant impact on teaching methodologies and student learning outcomes. Through a comprehensive literature review and case study analysis, the research examines the benefits of AI-driven tools such as machine translation systems, intelligent tutoring systems, and adaptive learning platforms in enhancing translation accuracy, personalizing learning experiences, and increasing student engagement. However, it also identifies challenges related to data privacy, ethical concerns, and the need for effective teacher training. The findings suggest that while AI has the potential to revolutionize translation education by providing real-time feedback and tailored learning pathways, it must be balanced with traditional teaching methods to ensure the development of critical thinking and cultural sensitivity in students. Future research should focus on addressing ethical issues, mitigating biases in AI systems, and developing robust professional development programs for educators. The study concludes that a collaborative human-AI model, where AI serves as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human expertise, is essential for maximizing the benefits of AI in creating innovative and inclusive learning environments in English translation and interpreting education.
