An Efficient and Secure Video Encryption Algorithm based on 1D Sine-Cubic Chaotic Map

This work presents an efficient and secure video encryption algorithm that utilizes a newly designed one-dimensional sine-cubic chaotic map. The 1D sine-cubic chaotic map (SCCM) is developed by combining traditional chaotic functions, namely the sine map and cubic map. While the sine and cubic functions suffer from low complexity and non-chaotic regions, the SCCM offers higher complexity and greater unpredictability, eliminating these non-chaotic regions. The improved chaotic properties of the SCCM are demonstrated through bifurcation and Lyapunov diagrams, as well as the 0-1 test. The proposed video encryption algorithm exploits the features of the input video file by calculating its SHA-512 hash value. The calculated 512-bit SHA value is used to determine the initial value and control parameter of the SCCM. Each frame of the input video is encrypted using the permutation and diffusion matrices derived from the iterations of the SCCM. In each frame, consisting of red, green, and blue planes, row and column shuffling operations, along with diffusion operations, are applied. To keep the encryption time short, the shuffling and diffusion matrices are generated once and then applied to all frames. For the proposed video encryption algorithm, various security analyses have been conducted, including histogram analysis, information entropy calculations, correlation and differential tests, secret key analysis, and execution time measurements. The proposed method provides strong security for video encryption according to these security analyses.
