An Improved Bandwidth and Gain Enhancement of Microstrip Patch Antenna for Advanced Wireless Communications

This paper presents the design and analysis of a microstrip patch antenna operating at 2.4 GHz, tailored for wireless communication systems and optimized using HFSS simulation software. The antenna design incorporates a rectangular patch element, a microstrip feed line, and a ground plane, with a substrate made of FR4 epoxy, chosen for it's Low-cost, moderate dielectric constant (4.4), Ease of Fabrication and Moisture Resistance to enhance performance. The proposed antenna achieves a return loss of -35.547 dB, ensuring excellent impedance matching, and a bandwidth of 2.473 GHz, suitable for high-speed communication. Additionally, it demonstrates a gain of 4.16 dB and a radiation efficiency of 75%, making it suitable for efficient signal transmission. With a VSWR of 1.0696, the design minimizes signal reflection and optimizes energy transfer. These results establish the proposed antenna as a promising candidate for Wireless communication systems, offering superior performance for advanced wireless applications.
