Design and Deployment of a Wideband Circular Patch Array Antenna for Millimeter Wave and 5G Applications
This paper presents a circular Microstrip patch array antenna. The importance of communication devices lies in their ability to achieve great precision while remaining small. The suggested antenna has resonance frequency of 28 GHz and is built on a Rogers RT5880 substrate that has a height of 0.508 mm, an <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\varepsilon_{r}$</tex> of 2.2, and a loss tangent of 0.0013. Using a 4.1 mm diameter patch and a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$10 \times 22.5 ~\text{mm}^{2}$</tex> substrate, this miniatured antenna with good gain and low return loss is demonstrated. Using HFSS Software the simulated results are <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathrm{S} 11=-18.8 ~\text{dB}$</tex>, with the bandwidth of 10% and gain of 7.8 dB obtained for a single circular antenna, while the return loss <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$=-16 ~\text{dB}$</tex>, bandwidth of 119% and gain of 10.6 dB for a four-array antenna. The simulated results findings show a lot of promises in upcoming 5G mobile data networks, this study develops a range of circular microstrip patch antennas (CMPAs), which are compatible with 5G technology using millimeter wave antenna systems and in wireless communication applications.
