A Study on the Impact of ChatGPT on Information Transmission in Collaborative Learning Environments

This study focuses on exploring how ChatGPT affects learners' information transfer during cooperative learning. We conducted a one-year study at a university in Macau, where learners were supported by ChatGPT in their cooperative learning by completing cooperative learning tasks in groups every week and recording their learning behaviour. By analysing learners' behaviour, we found that ChatGPT not only became an effective medium between learners and learning resources, but also had a significant impact on learners' collaborative communication and knowledge sharing, and reshaped the way information is transferred in collaborative learning.
