IoT-Based Toxic Gas Monitoring and Alarm System for Kitchen Area
The IoT-based toxic gas monitoring and alarm system is a safety-focused solution designed to monitor air quality and detect hazardous gases in small spaces such as kitchen areas. By integrating MQ135, MQ7, and MQ2 sensors, the system identifies air pollutants, carbon monoxide, and smoke, while a DHT sensor measures temperature and humidity. An ESP32 microcontroller processes the data and triggers alerts through a traffic light-style LED system, an audible buzzer, and a relay-controlled 5V ventilation fan to mitigate gas concentrations. Real-time sensor readings are displayed on a 2.4-inch LCD screen for easy monitoring, and a 3.3V AMS1117 voltage regulator ensures a stable power supply. Tested under controlled conditions, the system demonstrated reliable detection and warning capabilities. This low-cost solution enhances safety by providing timely alerts to prevent toxic gas exposure in confined areas.
