Parametric Analysis of Drift Tube Magnetic Field Detuning Effects on a 35 GHz Gyroklystron Amplifier
This paper investigates the effect of drift tube magnetic field detuning on the performance of a 35 GHz, twocavity gyroklystron amplifier. While gyroklystrons are designed for specific magnetic field profiles, actual operating conditions often involve variations. Using a large signal analytical approach, the study investigates how changes in beam current, pitch factor, and voltage, with magnetic field detuning along drift tube, affect the performance of the gyroklystron amplifier. The results demonstrate that variations in these parameters significantly influence the device's RF output power and overall performance. The present study demonstrated the importance of considering magnetic field detuning along drift tubes while optimizing, designing, and operating gyroklystron amplifiers.
