IoT-Based Fire Alarm System in Dustbin: Enhancing Fire Prevention and Public Safety
This project focuses on the development and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fire alarm system integrated into dustbins to address fire risks caused by improperly discarded cigarette butts. The system utilizes a flame sensor to detect infrared emissions from fires, coupled with an ESP32 microcontroller for real-time data processing and IoT connectivity. Upon fire detection, it triggers a multi-tiered alert system, including auditory and visual alarms (siren and strobe lights) and instant notification via the Blynk application. Developed using an Arduino IDE, the system ensures real-time monitoring and reliable communication with authorized personnel. The results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in promptly detecting fire incidents and enhancing public safety in authorized spaces. Additionally, its integration with IoT frameworks highlights its potential for broader applications, contributing to smart city initiatives and modern safety solutions.
