Design of E and H Shaped Patch Antenna for Next Generation 5G Applications

This research explores the development and simulation of H -shaped and E -shaped patch antennas optimized for advanced 5G wireless communication systems. The designed antennas utilize the Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate, which has a low dielectric constant of 2.2, and are optimized to operate at resonant frequencies of 25 GHz and 50 GHz. Simulation results indicate that the H -shaped patch antenna achieves a peak gain of 7.02 dB at 25 GHz, while the E-shaped patch antenna demonstrates a slightly higher gain of 7.3 dB at 50 GHz. Both designs exhibit excellent impedance matching, with return loss (S11) values of −25 dB and −27 dB, respectively, ensuring minimal signal reflection. Radiation patterns highlight high directivity and focused beamforming, essential for 5G communication. Utilizing High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) simulation tools, this research validates the antennas' potential for high-frequency applications, offering compact, efficient, and reliable solutions for millimeter-wave 5 G networks.
