Performance Analysis of Cooperative NOMA with MRC

In the preceding decade, there has been a substantial spike in the number of mobile users worldwide, as seen by the rise in both subscriptions and the proportion of people who own smartphones and tablets. By next decade, it is anticipated that there will be close to 8 billion subscribers to smartphones worldwide, exhibiting the ongoing rise in the use of mobile devices. Cooperative NOMA (Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access) is a cutting-edge wireless communication method intended to increase next-generation networks' throughput and reliability. Conventional Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) techniques are running out of room in terms of network capacity and spectrum as the need for faster data rates along with increasingly dependable connections intensifies. In this research article, the error performance of a two-user cooperative NOMA framework in the presence of Rayleigh fading environment with M-ary Phase Shift Keying (MPSK) modulation is investigated. And, Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) is employed at the receiver end for combining signals efficiently. And, an algorithm has been framed for the proposed system model. The proposed framework is compared with Selection Combining (SC) scheme in terms of Symbol Error Probability (SER) and is found to perform better than the traditional SC scheme.
