Design of a Solar-Powered Animal Cage with Enhanced Security Features
Traditional cage security systems are often ineffective against unauthorized access, theft, or tampering, putting animals at risk. Basic locks and barriers can be easily bypassed, and the lack of proper monitoring makes it difficult to respond quickly to security threats. This paper presents a smart cage system with a keypad and alarm to enhance security. Users must enter the correct password to unlock the cage, and after three failed attempts, an alarm is triggered. The system incorporates solar power, access control, and an automated alarm to improve safety and reliability. Key components include solar panels, an ESP32 microcontroller, a solenoid lock, a keypad, and an LCD display. The project involves research, simulation, and hardware setup. The final prototype is a secure, self-sustaining cage system that protects animals while using solar power for energy efficiency and off-grid capability. All the related methodology and results are discussed in this paper.
