Enhanced Voltage-Controlled Single-Phase Matrix Converter with Harmonic Suppression and Boost Capability

This paper introduces a closed-loop voltage-controlled single-phase matrix converter (VCSPMC) exhibiting a boost characteristic and minimal total harmonic distortion (THD), adhering to IEEE Standards 519-2022 and 1159-2019. The VCSPMC exhibits an output voltage that exceeds the input voltage of 106 Vrms, with the voltage conversion ratio of 1.696, while maintaining total harmonic distortion (THD) at both the input and output below 5%. The VCSPMC is regulated by a voltage sensor that assesses its output voltage and compares it to a reference value of 180 Vrms. The proposed methodology is predicated on a simulation conducted with MATLAB/Simulink.
