Engineering Implementation of Flexible Handling Payload for Communication Satellites

Traditional communication satellites use transparent transponder payloads, while the satellite does not process user signals, and the exchange of on-board signals between different beams is completed by analog filters and intermediate frequency switching matrices, which cannot satisfy the requirements of flexible service networking. The flexible processing payload adopts flexible on-board channelization filtering technology to support information exchange and flexible cross-beam interaction between any frequency band and any bandwidth on board, which improves the flexibility and reliability of communication and realizes the flexible exchange of satellite signals and resources. In this paper, the principle and functional block diagram of the flexible processing load are introduced. Furthermore, the function and composition of the typical flexible processing load are analyzed. Besides, the test method of the flexible processing load is proposed. Through the test of the typical processing load, the correctness of the design of the typical flexible processing load of communication satellites is verified.
