Design of the Spot Detection Imaging System Based on FPGA
In recent years, optical measurement has been widely applied in the field of aerospace. Spot detection is an important method in optical measurement, which calculates the changes in camera optical axis pointing by tracking the centroid position changes of light spots,, thereby improving the earth-pointing accuracy. This paper designs a spot detection imaging system applied in the field of aerospace remote sensing. Based on the FPGA working platform, it controls the brightness variation of laser diodes, and at the same time controls the detector to image the laser spot. Simultaneously controlling the detector to image the laser spot, designed and implemented algorithms such as connected domain spot detection, five-in-one selection, and centroid calculation, achieving automatic detection and windowing of the laser spot. The algorithm is optimized simultaneously, reducing the processing time of spot detection and improving the efficiency of the spot detection imaging system. This has significant practical application value in the optical measurement process of remote sensing cameras.
