Performance Analysis of IRS-Equipped UAV NOMA System with Two-Cell Coordination
This article presents a performance analysis of a multi-tiered wireless communication system involving two Base Stations (BSs), two Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRSs), and multiple users categorized as Near, Far, and Cell-edge. The system is designed to address challenges of connectivity, coverage, and resource allocation in diverse communication scenarios. The near users are directly communicated to corresponding BS and the far users are indirectly connected via UAV-IRS by non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) principle. The cell-edge user establishes connections through both UAV-IRSs for improved reliability and capacity with BS coordination. Performance metrics such as outage probability, and ergodic capacity are analyzed under varying channel conditions and transmit power levels. The results demonstrate how incorporating multiple UAV-IRS nodes enhances system performance by enabling robust connectivity for users with complex signal paths.
