A Compact Printed Triple Band Meander Line Antenna

This study introduces a compact meander line antenna designed for triple-band operation, fabricated on an FR4 substrate. The antenna features a partially tapered ground plane to achieve broadband impedance matching. Additionally, a rectangular parasitic element is incorporated into the ground plane to induce supplementary resonant modes. The antenna's dimensions are compact, measuring <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$31 \times 9 \times 1.6 \text{mm}^{3}$</tex>. It operates across three frequency bands with a return loss (S11) below −10 dB, specifically covering 2.32-2.51 GHz, 4.08-4.98 GHz, and 6.94-7.54 GHz. The antenna demonstrates consistent omnidirectional radiation patterns across all operational bands. Its radiation efficiency exceeds 80% in the first two bands and surpasses 70% in the third band, making it well-suited for integration into portable wireless devices. The frequency ranges supported by this antenna align with applications in WLAN, sub-6 GHz 5 G, and X-Band satellite communication systems.
