Tataurutan Pernikahan Adat dan Mitos pada Tradisi Upacara Perkawinan Masyarakat Banjar

The discussion of myths about traditional marriages circulating in the community is always associated with folklore or living legends that occur in the community, often originating from rituals in the human life cycle such as birth, marriage and death. There are many myths in Banjar traditional marriage that should be adhered to in order to avoid negativity or gain good things from the ceremony. For example, serving kokoleh as a welcome meal when a group of male relatives proposes to the female party is intended to achieve a good outcome (bapakoleh). The traditions carried out by the community against the myths that surround them, if associated with the logic of rationality in general, are certainly irrational. However, it is different when viewed with an anthropological approach that assumes that no social reality is without meaning. They understand the reality behind the various symbols found in traditional Banjar weddings such as basasuluh, badatang, bapayuan, maatar patalian atau matar jujuran, gotong royong, bapingit, akad nikah, duduk aruh atau baapi-api, badudus, mahias pengantin, maarak pengantin, batatai, bajagaan pengantin, dan parawaan which are surrounded by various myths.
