Novel Shaped Circularly Polarized Broadband Monopole Antenna for 5G Applications

This works presents a novel shaped planar circularly polarized monopole antenna for 5 G applications. It is designed on the lossy FR4 substrate of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\varepsilon_{r}=4.4, h=1.6 mm$</tex> and loss tangent <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">${\operatorname{tan}} {\delta} = 0.02$</tex>. The circular polarization is developed by modifying radiator and stubs loaded partial ground plane. Total five antennas have been designed for confirming the optimum responses. Surface current distributions, Phase differences of electric field components, radiation patterns are study for claim the RHCP radiation. The simulated results of impedance bandwidth, axial ratio bandwidth and peak gain are 2.6-3.7 GHz, 2.59-4.45 GHz, and 2.8 dBic achieved. Proposed antenna can be a good prospect for the 5 G use cases applications.
