Design and Development of a Compact Antenna for 5.9GHz V2X Applications

This paper focuses on the development of a highperformance patch antenna using Rogers 5880 substrate designed explicitly for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication at 5.9 GHz. With the increasing number of vehicles on the road and the growing implementation of smart automotive technology, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication has become essential in making roads safer, easing traffic congestion, and supporting the development of autonomous vehicles. The proposed model successfully achieves an <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$S_{11}$</tex> of −26 dB and a high gain of 7.3 dB with an impressive impedance matching at 50 ohms. The design resulted in a 43.2% reduction in substrate area, which makes it a more compact and efficient antenna to meet the stringent needs of V2X applications.
