Secure Short Packet Communications in Uplink NOMA Networks

This paper investigates the secure resource allocation for short packet communications in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks. The problem of optimizing the NOMA user grouping, the bandwidth unit allocation, and the transmit power to maximize the sum effective secrecy throughput is investigated. Since the problem belongs to mixed integer nonlinear programming and is challenging to solve, a heuristic algorithm based on various optimization methods is proposed. Particularly, the weighted bipartite matching and the swapping methods are used for optimizing the NOMA user grouping, while the alternating optimization and the successive convex approximation methods are used for optimizing the bandwidth unit allocation and the transmit power. The simulation results confirm the superiority of the proposed algorithm compared to various baseline algorithms.
