Research and design of active PFC boost converter

This article first introduces the shortcomings of passive ACDC rectifier circuits composed of diode bridge stacks and large output capacitors, proposes and carries out research on active rectifier circuits with power factor correction function. Then, according to the given design specifications, the parameters of a power factor correction (PFC) boost converter were designed based on SC3654, and loop stability analysis was conducted from a frequency domain perspective. Finally, a 300W/390V prototype of an active PFC boost converter was built, with a PF value of 0.99 and the voltage ripple of less than 6% of the output voltage, verifying the correctness of the design parameters.
