Horn Antennas for Satellite Payloads: Recent Advances

This paper presents recent developments on horn antennas for satellite communication payloads. These include high-efficiency multi-mode circular horn covering multiple frequency bands that are widely separated, multi-furcated rectangular horn with low sidelobes and low cross-polar levels, and tri-band corrugated horns. Design aspects, geometry, return loss and radiation patterns of these different horn types are discussed.
